Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
During the School Day:
- Assist with Van Buren High School Concert Band / Symphonic Band Instruction
- Assist with Van Buren Freshman Academy Band Instruction
- Co-Direct a Performing Group
- TBD based upon area of expertise
- Co-Direct band class instruction (grade 6-8) at BTMS & NMS
- Daily schedule TBD based upon area of expertise
- Assist with the recruitment and retention of band students at BTMS, NMS, VBFA & VBHS
Before/After School Duties:
- Assist with VBHS Marching Band
- Pre-season Training Camp, After School Practices, Football Games, Marching Competitions
- June – Oct
- Assist with VBHS Band after school section classes and private lesson instruction
- Throughout the school year
- Assist with VBFA Band after school section classes and private lesson instruction
- Throughout the school year
- Assist with Van Buren Jazz Band Instruction
- Assist with, and support all middle school extra duty functions
- STAR group leadership, Team Meetings, PT Conferences, Awards & Recognition Assemblies, etc.
- Assist with, and support the organization and implementation of all VBHS, VBFA, and VBMS Band Booster Club activities
Will be required to obtain a CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with School Bus Endorsement.
Contract: 220 days
