Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor children in the classroom, lunch room, bathroom area, hallways, and during recess time
- Assist a certified teacher with teaching as directed
- Prepare curriculum materials and activities for instruction
- Implementing small group instruction, including proper usage of programs
- Help with maintaining a safe/clean classroom
- Provide students with content area intervention either one on one or in small group settings as directed by principal.
- Oversee the operation of the computer lab not limited to repairs, program installation, and daily maintenance.
- Assist with other classes as directed by supervisor and/or principal
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Clean background check
- Pass Paraprofessional Assessment at hire or have 60 college hours
- Participate in required Paraprofessional module trainings provided by ADE
Physical requirements
- Be able to stand a minimum of 80% of your scheduled shift
- Be able to walk short distances to escort children between classrooms and activities
- Be able to lean, reach, bend, lift and squat to help children and co-workers
- Be able to walk on uneven surfaced (playground)
- Be able to walk up and down stairs
- Be outside in all weather conditions for assigned duty. This includes recess, before school drop offs and after school pick- ups.
Reports to: Assistant Principal/Principal
179 day contract.
Opening is for the 2024-2025 school year.
