Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor student(s) in the classroom, lunch room, bathroom area, hallways, and during recess time
- Assist with data collecting of behaviors
- Work one on one with student(s)
- Assist student(s) with classroom activities
- Assist with other classes as directed by supervisor and/or principal
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Clean background check
- Pass Paraprofessional Assessment at hire or have 60 college hours
- Participate in required Paraprofessional module trainings provided by ADE
Physical requirements
- Be able to stand the majority of the school day
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, lift, carry and squat to assist students as needed
- Be able to walk short distances to escort students between classrooms
- Be able to walk on uneven surfaces (playground)
- Be able to run/chase a student that runs from the classroom, line, etc
- Be outside in all weather conditions for assigned duty. This includes recess, before school drop offs and after school pick- ups.
Reports to: Principal / Special Education Director
Contract: 179 days is a full contract for this position. The 24-25 employment contract will be prorated based on days worked.
